Nine Treasures - Seeking the Absolute (2025)
“Seeking the Absolute” finds Nine Treasures confidently merging the grit of alt-metal with the haunting textures of Mongolian folk instrumentation. Their morin khuur (horse-head fiddle), balalaika and throat-singing elements weave seamlessly into heavy riffs, driving drums and dynamic song structures. The album shuns formulaic verse-chorus metal in favour of atmospheric builds, hypnotic grooves and bursts of head-banging energy. While the band leans into clear metal archetypes (with echoes of Tool and melodic death) the cultural edge and instrumental detail lift the work into unique terrain. Overall, this is a compelling rebirth for the band — potent, richly layered and ready for broader recognition.
