This sits slightly lower for me than pure respect. I’m engaged, but not held. When I listen to Music for Solo Gong , I register the intention almost immediately. The terms are clear: a single object, activated carefully, allowed to resonate, decay, and interfere with itself. I don’t feel misled or challenged by the premise — it’s honest, direct, and disciplined. I’m drawn to the sound at first.
