Vauruvã - Mar da Deriva (2025)

Mar da Deriva unfolds as a triptych of dreamlike sonic odysseys, each hybridizing folk, ambient, and black metal into a hallucinatory voyage. The album flows seamlessly from slow acoustic introductions to tempestuous black metal outbursts—then retreats again into serene synth and flute passages. It conjures sweeping, otherworldly landscapes where flutes, arpeggiated acoustic guitars, and bird sounds overlay brutal riffing and blast beats, immersing the listener in emotional contrast. While rooted in tradition, the album is elevated by Lemos’s masterful melding of violence and beauty, tension and release. Ultimately, it stands as Vauruvã’s most compelling work yet—dreamy, bold, and profoundly cinematic.
