Five Point Palm Exploding Heart Technique - The Storm (2025)

The Storm is an ambitious and emotionally charged debut full-length, pushing past earlier EPs in scope and depth. It weaves brooding atmospheres—moments of introspective calm—into sprawling, storm‑like instrumental climaxes driven by aggressive guitar and thunderous percussion. The 50-plus-minute runtime sustains powerful peaks like “Leviathan Pt. 2” (haunting strings) and “Wallcrawler” (devilish grooves with horn accents), though it occasionally drifts into overly repetitive sections that dilute momentum. Still, its narrative sequencing—in reverse order even—adds emotional weight, with haunting finales like “Wayne’s World Dies in an Explosion” closing the record with furious catharsis. While a more focused trim might have tightened the impact, the album overall is an impressive, immersive statement, confirming the band’s potential for textured, cinematic rock.
