Geese - Getting Killed (2025)

Getting Killed is a bracing, wild ride through anxiety, fragmentation, and melody—a release that seems equally born of chaos and careful intent. Geese push the boundaries of indie rock, allowing songs to erupt, collapse, and reconfigure, with Cameron Winter alternating between whispering introspection and feral, anguished outbursts. The instrumentation is simultaneously loose and demanding: drums rattle, guitars splinter, and occasional brass or choir elements surge unexpectedly, giving the album a sense of theatrical tension. Even at its most unhinged, however, the record retains strong hooks and emotional clarity—melodic lines carry weight, and the dramatic shifts never feel gratuitous. Getting Killed is their most fearless statement yet: messy, compelling, and impossible to predict.
