Militarie Gun - Life Under The Gun (2025)
God Save the Gun is a raw and urgent record that captures a band on the brink—equal parts adrenaline and introspection, with every riff and lyric charged. From the opening “B A D I D E A,” where Shelton admits “I’ve been slipping up,” the album sets a tone of self-reckoning and personal collapse, as much as rebellion. The songs carry a hardcore backbone—thunderous drums, distorted guitars, pulsing bass—but also a melodic sheen that makes the underlying pain and vulnerability all the more palpable. Tracks such as “God Owes Me Money” and the titular “God Save the Gun” drive home the stakes: a cycle of hurt, recognition of the self within it, and a desire for something better. In short, this is militarie gun stripped of facades—loud, unpolished, emotionally exposed—and it works because they’re willing to lay it all bare.
