Mobb Deep - Infinite(2025)

With Infinite, Mobb Deep delivers a final chapter that bridges their legacy with contemporary relevance—late verses from the late Prodigy underpin a project produced by Havoc and The Alchemist.  The production leans into their signature dark, haunting boom-bap while occasionally yielding to modern touches, but the heart remains anchored in the Queensbridge sound.  Lyrically, themes of survival, mortality, loyalty and legacy course through the album, heightening its emotional resonance given Prodigy’s passing.  Despite the risk of posthumous releases losing urgency, this one largely avoids that trap—Havoc’s beats and the choice of features (e.g., Nas, Ghostface, Raekwon) ensure it feels like a worthy continuation rather than a mere retrospective.  That said, while it doesn’t quite eclipse the classics like The Infamous or Hell on Earth, Infinite succeeds on its own terms—as a somber, powerful salute and a reminder of what Mobb Deep stood for.
