Sorry - Cosplay (2025)

COSPLAY finds Sorry dismantling their familiar indie-rock identity and reconstructing it into something more fragmented, playful and daring.
The album blends sharp guitar work, understated vocals and electronic textures—opening with “Echoes” which sets the tone of repeating mantras, distorted synth and looping rhythms.
Some tracks like “Life in This Body” showcase the band’s strength when they balance vulnerability with sonic tension, while others (e.g., “Waxwing”) flirt with cold electronics and risk losing the human edge.
Critics note that while the ambition is commendable, the album doesn’t always cohere — some parts feel over-layered, experimental to a fault, and less accessible than previous works.
Overall, COSPLAY is an intriguing evolution for Sorry—less straightforward than before, more daring, and full of ideas. For fans willing to embrace the unpredictable, it offers plenty of reward; those expecting tidy hooks may find it uneven.
