Brass Against - VI (2025)

VI delivers the strong brass arrangements and rhythmic punch that define Brass Against’s style. The horn parts cut sharply through the mix, giving familiar structures a different edge while keeping the energy high. The playing is tight and confident, especially in sections where brass harmonies take over the role normally held by guitar riffs.

The drawback is predictability. Once the pattern of horn-driven verse and percussion-heavy chorus is established, tracks tend to follow the same momentum without building toward larger payoffs. There are dynamic contrasts across the record, but they rarely lead to emotional escalation. The strength of VI lies in its immediacy and the impact of its sound, not in long-form development.

As a whole, the album works as a showcase for performance intensity, and there are highlights where arrangement choices lift familiar structures, but it remains consistently in the same zone from start to finish.
