Ulver - Neverland (2025)

Neverland is a signal record rather than a destination. You can hear Ulver stepping away from extremity and toward atmosphere, but the step isn’t yet a stride. The LP establishes a mood quickly and maintains it competently, though without meaningful escalation or consequence.

The textures are tasteful, the restraint genuine, but the record never asks for endurance. It doesn’t reward long listening so much as permit it. This makes the experience pleasant and suggestive, yet fundamentally provisional.

As a transitional document, it’s valuable. As an album-world, it remains incomplete — more an outline of future architecture than a space you return to on its own terms.
