tsubi club - trinket (2026)
It feels like it’s constantly starting but never actually going anywhere. Every track throws ideas at you, but none of them are given enough time to build into something meaningful. It’s stimulation without consequence.
The production is dense, almost impressively so, but it works against the album more than it helps it. Instead of creating tension or progression, it just keeps resetting the same energy in different forms. Nothing escalates, nothing really arrives.
There are glimpses of something stronger when a hook locks in, but the album moves on before it can turn into a payoff. It ends up feeling disposable — enjoyable in the moment, but structurally empty once it’s over.
Pros
Hyper-detailed production → constant micro-events, textures, and glitch layers keep it sonically activeClear aesthetic identity → strong digicore / internet-native fingerprint, not interchangeable
Occasional hook flashes → a few moments actually land and show what the album could be
Cons
No real structural escalation → tracks feel like fragments, no buildup, no payoff (major hit in my system)
Over-saturation kills impact → too many ideas → nothing fully lands or breathes
Low emotional stakes → playful but weightless → triggers my“vibe-not-stakes” ceiling
