MEMORIALS - All Clouds Bring Not Rain (2026)

I can hear the ambition immediately. There’s a lot happening — stylistically, structurally, sonically — and it keeps the album engaging on a surface level. It never feels lazy or empty.

But the more I listen, the more it feels like movement without direction. The album keeps shifting between ideas instead of developing them. It’s active, but not really building toward anything.

I don’t get that sense of inevitability I’m looking for. Sections come and go, but they don’t stack into a real payoff. It ends up feeling more like a collection of interesting passages than a fully shaped arc.

I respect the creativity, but it doesn’t translate into something that holds together or leaves a strong impression once it’s over.

Pros

Rich and imaginative sound palette → I hear a lot of ideas and textures, it never feels empty
Clear artistic identity → I always know I’m inside their world, it’s not generic
Frequent structural shifts → the album keeps moving and avoids pure stagnation

Cons

I don’t feel real escalation → things change, but they don’t build toward something stronger
Too many ideas competing → I lose focus because nothing is given enough space to land
Weak cumulative impact → by the end, I don’t feel like I’ve gone through a clear journey
