I appreciate the ambition behind this record more than I enjoy listening to it. It commits completely to its bleak emotional world, and the combination of noise, distortion and slow-burning tension gives it a strong identity. It never feels generic, and I can hear a band with a clear artistic vision rather than one chasing trends.
What ultimately limits the album for me is that its emotional weight doesn't translate into equally compelling songwriting. Many of the long tracks build through layers of texture instead of developing memorable themes or evolving in meaningful ways. After a while, the constant intensity becomes predictable, and the emotional impact starts to flatten rather than deepen.
The production is immersive and the atmosphere is convincing, but the record often mistakes density for progression. I keep waiting for moments that fundamentally change the direction of a piece or deliver a truly unforgettable payoff, yet too often the music circles around the same emotional space without transforming it.
I respect the conviction and the uncompromising aesthetic, but I don't find enough structural reward to match the album's considerable ambition. It leaves a strong impression while it's playing, yet relatively little continues to resonate once it's over.
