Ariana Grande - Petal (2026)

On Petal, Ariana Grande moves away from obvious pop fireworks toward colder electronic production, layered harmonies and deliberately restrained vocals. The sound is elegant and cohesive, while a few tracks reveal a more adventurous side of her music.

The album’s main weakness is that restraint often becomes flatness. Several songs remain trapped in the same subdued atmosphere, with too few memorable choruses or real emotional peaks. Grande’s voice is still immaculate, but holding it back so consistently removes some of the excitement.

Still, Petal is polished, mature and more interesting than a routine pop release. It does not fully deliver on its experimental ambitions, but its detail, atmosphere and consistency make it a solid evolution.

Pros
Elegant and detailed production
Strong vocal layering
Cohesive, mature atmosphere

Cons
Too restrained in places
Few major hooks or climaxes
Several tracks blend together
