HOYO-MiX - Genshin Impact - The Shimmering Voyage Vol. 6 (Original Game Soundtrack) (2026)

HOYO-MiX are still ridiculously good at creating huge, polished game music, and The Shimmering Voyage Vol. 6 has plenty of beautiful orchestral themes, delicate piano pieces and impressive cinematic moments.

But as an album, this is simply too much. With more than 90 tracks, a large part of it feels like functional background music, short variations or transitional cues rather than compositions I really want to return to. The quality is consistently high, but the memorable moments are buried under an enormous amount of material.

Perfectly effective inside Genshin Impact, much less convincing as a standalone listening experience.

Pros
Excellent orchestration and production
Some genuinely beautiful themes
Impressive musical variety

Cons
Far too long and bloated
Many tracks feel interchangeable
Much stronger in-game than as an album

Genre: Soundtrack
Country: China

Final Verdict: 65% (Good Album)
Yearly Ranking: 256th / 605

Highlight: Symphony of Boreal Wind (Variation)

Made me think of:
Yu-Peng Chen
Yoko Shimomura
Masayoshi Soken
