No Cure - It Is Going To Get Dark (2026)

No Cure deliver 33 minutes of metallic hardcore, death-metal riffs, breakdowns and relentless aggression on It Is Going to Get Dark. The performances are intense, the production is suitably crushing and the album occasionally becomes genuinely vicious.

Unfortunately, most tracks rely on the same chugging riffs, shouted vocals and predictable breakdowns. The death-metal elements add some variety, but not enough to prevent the songs from gradually blending together. The constant brutality also becomes numbing rather than exciting.

It is a competent and energetic record with a few strong moments, but it rarely moves beyond the established metallic-hardcore formula. Effective in short doses, yet too repetitive and limited to remain memorable.

Pros
Convincingly heavy production
Energetic and committed performances
Some effective death-metal passages

Cons
Repetitive songwriting
Excessive dependence on breakdowns
Very little melodic or emotional variety
