Big Thief - Double Infinity (2025)

Double Infinity is Big Thief’s most expansive and emotionally immersive project to date. Recorded as a trio for the first time (after bassist Max Oleartchik’s departure), the album was crafted through improvisation with ten guest musicians over three weeks in New York City’s Power Station. Tracks like “Grandmother” and “Los Angeles” unfold as sonic meditations on love, impermanence, and reconnection, while songs such as “No Fear” and “Words” lean into spiritual and emotional freedom—even if clarity is occasionally sacrificed for texture. The result is an album that prioritizes raw feeling over narrative coherence, resonating as a deeply human reflection on love that exists beyond language and time.
