Motionless in White - Decades (2026)

I enjoy this album because Motionless in White knows exactly how to deliver the sound its audience expects. The production is huge, the riffs hit hard, and the mix of industrial textures, electronics and metalcore remains effective throughout. There are enough memorable hooks to keep the record engaging, and the performances feel confident from start to finish. My main issue is that very little catches me off guard. The band spends most of the album refining ideas that have already worked in the past instead of exploring new territory, so the songs often blur together despite their technical quality. I finish the album appreciating how well it's made, but I don't feel like it adds much to the band's legacy beyond reinforcing its established strengths. It's a solid and enjoyable release, though one that leaves me wanting a bit more ambition and individuality.

Pros

Powerful production with consistently strong performances.
Effective blend of heavy riffs, electronics and melodic choruses.
Maintains a cohesive atmosphere across the album.

Cons

Relies heavily on familiar songwriting formulas.
Few moments feel genuinely surprising or adventurous.
Doesn't leave the lasting impact of the band's strongest releases.
